From Glauber To Jirges

Through letters from Glauber Rocha (Milhem Cortaz) to his friend and collaborator Jirges Ristum (Nicola Siri), in the midst of the effervescent 70s, we uncover a little of Glauber’s relationship with Italy and the cinema, as well as his perspective on Brazilian socio-political-cultural conditions at the time. The film also brings some of Glauber’s intimacy, contained in the letters to his friend, which is reconstructed through writings, old Super 8 movies and poetry. A tribute from director André Ristum to his father, Jirges, and Glauber Rocha, both deceased in the early eighties.
